Four self-contained, air-conditioned passenger cabins with bathroom are designed for eight passengers. 2 of the 4 cabins with double beds convertible into 2 single beds.On the deck, 130 square meters of useful surface – a large cockpit-outside dining area sheltered from the sun – two large "trampoline/sunbathing areas" at the front of the boat – deck cushions and mattresses - each hull having transom steps for easy access to/from the water. Each catamaran has a team of one skipper and one chef-hostess, occasionally assisted by a guide. Both are experienced sailor and hotelier, and will also be your guides for the cruise.Obviously, boat handling and safety is left entirely to the crew. However, if you love sailing or dream to learn how to sail, you may take the wheel, send the mainsail up, or ask the skipper to tell you a few of his secrets....unless you prefer to watch the crew do the handling while you are comfortably lying on one of the two large "trampoline/sunbathing areas" at the front of the boat.Cabins and bathrooms are kept impeccably clean, with linen changed regularly. As to the delicious cooking served aboard, you will be sole judges but we already know that you'll love it!Depending on your tastes or desires, your leisure activities will also be organized by your crew with the concern to not disturb your privacy while maintaining safety at all times. You may like to swim in the company of rays, go for a kayak ride to a desert motu, discover the most attractive coral areas as though you were in a giant aquarium. On returning from a 4x4 land excursion, a long drink served by your skipper will surely be most enjoyable at this magical time when the sun sets the lagoon ablaze.

The Aranui offers comfortable, air-conditioned cabins, creating an intimate environment for her guests. Passengers will be able to sunbathe on deck, swim in the pool, or enjoy exotic tropical drinks while the Aranui cruises among the Marquesas islands.Polynesian sailors work aboard the Aranui year-round as this freighter steams across the South Pacific, delivering cargo to some of the most remote islands on earth. The Aranui is the lifeline that links the distant Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia, 750 miles northeast of Tahiti, with the rest of the world. Their primitive beauty and erstwhile cannibalism have attracted writers, artists, and adventurers since the time of Captain Cook.Aranui's voyages cover all six inhabited Marquesas Islands, plus Takapoto and Rangiroa in the Tuamotus, the world's largest atoll. Travellers go along for the ride to watch the tattooed crew sling sacks of copraby day and strum ukuleles by night. They go to put tropical flowers behind their ears and learn the Tahitian three-step in the Aranui's bar. To see the lush landscape and wild stone spires of the islands. To explore ancient ruins, discover overgrown tikis, visit the grave of Paul Gauguin, and roam the valleys that inspired tales Robert Luis Stevenson.

Archipels Croisières Team has recently announced the renewal of their entire fleet catamaran with the Eleuthera 60', the first new and larger catamaran will offer a better comfort and the addition of a fifth cabin.Built by Fountaine Pajot, located in La Rochelle France, Archipels Croisières will offer their passengers a significantly improved service with those new sailboats. Their first new catamaran is named Mata Fenua (eye of the land in Tahitian language). The catamaran is based in Tuamotu for the 3 and 4 days cruises in Rangiroa atoll and for the weekly itinerary in the heart of Tuamotu ( Fakarava – Toau – Rangiroa ).

Rangiroa is the largest of a chain of 78 atolls that comprise the Tuamotu, the world's most extensive atoll archipelago. Second largest atoll in the world (78 km long and 24 km wide, smaller only than Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands) this atoll is. The land mass of the Tuamotus is insignificant compared with what exists below the surface of the water. The composition of Rangiroa provides this unique feature: the reef's narrow passes funnel incoming tides to produce rapid localised currents.Tuamotu's natives, the "Paumotu," are these in Polynesia who keep the most sea oriented traditional way of life. They live in the lagoon, they live with the lagoon, from fishing, from the black pearl. 3000 are living in Rangiroa, 90% of them in the two villages of Tiputa and Avatoru. Outside of the two villages, located near the passes, Robinson Crusoe could have lived on these hundreds of tiny islands, called "motu," which form this huge coral belt. At the far end of the atoll, visitors may have the impression this is the place were world is beginning. One word...immensity as description would be enough. Immensity of colours, of beauty, of untouched nature variety, of clearness and calm.

Tahiti Small Ship Cruising.....

Small ship Tahiti cruising takes you far from the beaten track and close up to places no other kind of cruising can reach. The ship's small size means it can negotiate narrow waterways, shallow bays and quite rivers where bigger ships cannot go.

Unlike big ships and large scale international ports, a small ship allows you to experience places where the nature, history and culture remain fresh, where the flood of tourists has not overrun them and will not overrun you. Places where you will meet and interact with the locals and discover how the waterway plays a vital role in their normal day to day lives.

Soren Larsen is a large wooden square rigger 145 ft long, 25ft 6 ins wide, 98 ft high masts, 19th century brigantine rig; traditionally and comfortably furnished below decks and with many of today's modern conveniences. The Søren Larsen is surveyed to both the British Department of Transport & Bureau Veritas World Wide Class Certification.

Relive the classic days of sail with Soren Larsen as she harnesses the world’s trade winds for this ocean adventure. Sail in the wake of the ancient Polynesian navigators and pioneering voyages of Captain Cook aboard this magnificently restored square rigger.

The South Pacific with its enchanting islands, colourful history, rich and ancient customs and warm hospitable people, stirs the mind and excites the imagination.Remote, unspoiled atolls accessible only by sea is the stuff of escapists' dreams. We sail in the wake of Cook and Bougainville, harnessing the trade winds to transit the oceans, ensuring the best weather the whole year round. From May to November explore this untouched paradise with 10 to 18 night voyages through the Pacific. You can choose the thrill and challenge of a deep ocean voyage, with excitement of blue water sailing and moonlit passage. With total involvement in the ship there's time to master the rig, become confident aloft or learn something of ocean navigation.Or you can take a more leisurely island voyage, day sailing through an idyllic cruising paradise, still participating but at whatever level you enjoy.

Due to the nature of the voyages we are able to offer alternative types of holidays:

The longer sea passages are aimed at the adventurous guests who wish to experience blue water sailing on a square rigger. The ship will be sailing continuously until she arrives at the next chain of Pacific islands, hence the Voyagers will be able to experience a number of night sailings. You will however, spend time exploring the islands you visit en route. It is advisable that guests joining this type of voyage are prepared to participate in most aspects of sailing the vessel including the night watches.Cruises, once the vessel is in amongst a chain of islands are designed to be more leisurely, with the emphasis on exploring the various islands, snorkelling, lazing on beaches as well as the sailing. Often the ship anchors overnight in a harbour or lagoon.

Tahiti's dive sites offer an average of 30m visibility along with masses of coloured fish life, canyons and caves. Hand feed the moray eels or even dive the wrecks of an ocean schooner or seaplane.

Moorea, the Perfect South Sea Island, is 10 minutes by air or 30 minutes by luxury catamaran from Papeete. Moorea is probably best known for its fish and shark feeding. During feeding time, the marine life is so dense that the view of your dive guide can become somewhat obscured! Dive sites include The Blue Island, Napoleon Plateau offering large 80lb Napoleon fish plus sharks, the Canyon, and Shark Dining Room where you'll be pleased to know that we are not on the menu - but the shark and eel feeding is quite exciting.

Bora Bora, the Jewel of the Pacific, is a central emerald island surrounded by a myriad of islets. The colours of the lagoon vary from pale turquoise to deepest cobalt, and the range of depth almost assures you of sighting the gentle manta rays. The reefs are home to a great deal of smaller lagoon dwelling species, and locals can introduce you to the 4.5 foot barracuda named Romeo.

Raiatea-Tahaa, the two sister islands, attract large schools of pelagic fish, Dog-toothed Tuna, Barracuda, Leopard Rays and sometimes Manta Rays when in season. Divers can assist with shark feeding - a hair raising experience!

Huahine, the garden island, is where Pacific Blue Adventure can take you to see Avafehia Pass, Coral City notable for formations rising 10 foot off the bottom and the 15lb red snapper, Yellow Valley rich in multi-coloured fish, the aquarium for beginners and the dive school. At Huahine you can see giant Jewfish or Black Sea Bass weighing in at 400lbs.

Rangiroa is the place where drift diving or shooting the pass can be done any day. The steady 5 knot current offers an exhilarating dive and the regular scheduled dives are run on a 12 hour cycle so as to get the slack water. This cycle advances 45 minutes each day. Rangiroa dive sites include Napoleon Manta Point, Motu Fara Pass, Mahuta, The Avatoru, Tiputa Aquariums and Tiputa Shark Cave.

Tikehau was declared to contain the most fish by Jacques Cousteau in 1987. Raie Manta Club - Tikehau, can show you those along with providing night diving, photo and video services.

Manihi, famous for its black pearls, has an array of sites offering frequent encounters with Manta Rays, drift dives or the Pass Entrance. 'Grouper City' has a notable aggregation of marbled grouper. .

Undoubtedly the most famous island in Polynesia, Bora Bora is surprisingly small. But what this tiny gem lacks in size, it makes up for in beauty. Approach it from the air or sea, and you are greeted with a captivating vision... a coral reef dotted with emerald islets encircles the main island like a string of luscious pearls.

Bora-Bora lies 240km (150 miles) northwest of Tahiti in the Leeward Society Islands.

Bora-Bora lies 240km (150 miles) northwest of Tahiti in the Leeward Society Islands. There is only one navigable pass, facing the principal village of Vaitape. A 29km (18 miles) partially paved road circles the island, passing colourful villages, archaeological sites, old Army bunkers and cannon left over from World War II, when 5,000 American G.I.'s make a "friendly invasion". Matira Beach has white sand and warm, shallow water. Bora Bora's lagoon is world-famous for its beauty.

Climate: Bora Bora, located 17 degrees south of the equator, enjoys a year-round tropical climate. Temperatures on Bora Bora range from about 25ºC (77ºF) to 28ºC (82ºF). The months of November to April are hotter and more humid, with occasional rain. From May to October, the weather is dry and the nights cooled by the trade winds, which are strongest at this time of year.

Getting There: Major airlines service Papeete, Tahiti’s capital. From North America and Europe, fly via Los Angeles, less than eight hours from the Tahitian capital. From Auckland and Tokyo, there are direct flights to Papeete. Flying time from Tahiti to Bora Bora is only 45 minutes. The airport is located on Motu Mute, an islet that extends to the coral reef in Bora Bora’s lagoon.
