Located between Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, Cuba is an island bathed with sunlight and with human warmth. Its tumultuous history and its legendary beauty made it mythic. Boarding there in 1492, Christophe Colomb said: “This is the most beautiful land one has ever seen”. Archipelago is composed of a principal island, and multiples “Cayos” and rocky islet. This presents and huge variety of landscapes mixing mountains, agricultural valleys and endless sandy beaches.

Cuban cities contain cultural and architectural world famous richness, which conferred to La Havane and Trinidad the title of Humanity patrimony, given by UNESCO.

Climate
Cuba benefits of a subtropical climate. There are 2 seasons: one dry season (November to May) and one humid season (June to October). In between, temperatures are quite stable around 25°. Difference consists in difference of rain quantities. Whatever the season, weather is sunny as rains are only intense and short “showers”!

Security Deposit:
To be paid at the base upon embarkation by bank certified cheque, cash, traveller's cheques or credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). The deposit will be charged the equivalent amount in the local currency. If paid by credit card, we recommend you contact your bank to advise them of the transaction, prior to the charge being processed. Should the refundable (subject to damage or loss) Security Deposit by credit card be refused at the time of embarkation, you will be required instead, to take out the non-refundable Security Insurance.

Equipment and Options
All yachts are equipped with bimini top, electrical anchor windlass, roller furling genoa, full a batten mainsail (easy furling main), self tailing winches, autopilot, GPS, additional ventilation, oversized water tanks and fridges, hot water, hot deck shower, CD-player with cockpit speakers, dinghy plus outboard engine and more.

The Catanas are additionally equipped with: autopilot Raymarine ST 7001, chart plotter, maxiview repeater, watermaker, microwave, freezer, 220 V & 12 V plugs, solar panels and a lot more.

For your personal comfort, you will find the following equipment for each guest onboard: snorkelling gear, 2 sets of linen and towels per week, beach towels.

Consumables: All yachts are delivered to you with full tanks of fuel (yacht & dinghy), full tank of water, 1 bottle of cooking gas in duty + 1 spare bottle. You have to re-deliver the yacht with full tanks of fuel and water.

One-Way Trip: Fleet is based at Cienfuegos, Cuba. Should you want to end your sailing vacation elsewhere (Isla de la Juventud, Cayo Largo or Trinidad - Cuba), please advise and we will arrange this one-way charter for you (one-way fee applicable).

Provisions: Once you have gone through the provisions list, you are required to submit your order (no later than 20 days prior to departure date). Your groceries and other useful items will be ready upon your arrival. Please return your completed provisions list to our office by emailing our staff at: [email protected] Payment is made at the base on arrival.

For charters booked with the pre-paid Meal Package Option: Your hostess/cook will shop for provisions (according to your preferences) and have your vessel fully stocked and ready prior to your arrival. All the cooking and cleaning in the galley will be taken care of by your hostess/cook while you relax!

For charters booked with skipper only (no hostess/cook): You will need to supply your own food by shopping on arrival or order from the self-select provisions list (if you would like your vessel to be stocked and ready prior to your arrival). You are also required to provide meals for your skipper therefore you will need to keep this in mind when you are purchasing or ordering your food. Please note that the skipper is only responsible for the operation of the yacht. Cooking for the skipper as well as cleaning of the galley will be your responsibility.

Charter Requirement: It is required that you spend your last night moored at the base's pontoon. The first night is optional.
