SUGGESTED ITINERARY FOR THE WHITSUNDAY
ISLANDS

Day 1 • After orientation and chart briefing,
sail east towards Haslewood Island, passing through Solway passage to anchor
overnight at Whitehaven Beach, Chalkie’s Beach or Windy Bay.
Day 2 • Explore White Bay at low tide or
Tongue Bay and Hill Inlet at high tide. Sail to Border Island for snorkeling and
lunch at Cateran Bay. Pass through Hook Passage to overnight in May’s Bay or
tranquil Cid Harbour.
Day 3 • Sail north to the top of Hook Island
to the Marine Park zone. Snorkel and lunch in the area, anchoring down for the
night in Butterfly Bay.
Day 4 • A day of further exploring the reefs
at Black, Langford and Bird Islands. Anchor for the evening at one of the
majestic Stonehaven anchorages.
Day 5 • Head south to the fjord-like haven of
Nara Inlet. Dinghy ashore, then bushwalk to the Aboriginal cave. Serious hikers
may wish to continue on walking up to the waterfall. After lunch, set sail for
South Molle Island, your night anchorage and an evening ashore at the resort.
Day 6 • A rollicking sail down the passage
will bring you to the northern beaches of Lindeman Island for lunch. Move over
to Shaw Island for the evening, either at Neck Bay or Burning Point.
Day 7 • Explore Shaw Island or the hole in
Maher Island for part of the morning then set your course NW to Palm Bay on Long
Island for your last evening’s celebration dinner ashore.
Final Morning • Enjoy a pleasant last sail
across the Whitsunday Passage back to the Hamilton Island base, arriving in time
to disembark by 12 noon.
