Weather: May to October SW winds 2-5. Ideal sailing weather with excellent day time winds, calm seas and plenty of sunshine. The winds are from the SW-W, and are generally light to moderate. The wind tends to start late morning and blows consistently to dusk, after which it dies away for a comfortable night anchorage. The seas are mainly calm with plenty of sunshine and only the occasional shower.

Ho Chi Minh City and the south are hot all year round, particularly from May to August, with daytime temperatures ranging from 24C-35C. Hanoi and the north experience the four seasons, with June to September as the hottest months around 33C.

Tides: tidal range is 1-2 metres
