An option is also available for a cruise with a skipper only.
Discover a world of palm-fringed beaches, sapphire lagoons, lush tropical forests, sparkling silver waterfalls, and men and women wearing flowers in their hair. French Oceania is made up of five archipelagos spread over an area larger than Europe! There is a total of 115 islands with a varied range of national features such as atolls with romantic inland lagoons (Tuamotus) and volcanic islands with luxuriant flora (The Society Islands). The sea and tropical mountains revel in the warm sunshine and the islands live and breathe colour and perfume; flowers are literally everywhere even around the necks of the Vahines. Cruising around the Leeward Islands you will discover a world that is truly unforgettable. The year is divided into two main seasons: the wonderfully temperate dry season from March to December and the hot wet season from December to February. TUAMOTU... The Tuamotu atolls have a
special charm of their own. Life is calm and peaceful, moving as naturally as the "maramu" tropical wind, somewhat reminiscent of the trade-winds in the Caribbean. Rangiroa, 78 kilometres long and 26 kilometres across, is the largest atoll in the archipelago. Visitors will be enchanted by the beauty of the lagoon, a favourite spot for many colourful fish and even dolphins. The fauna is quite fascinating: visit the Motu Paio bird reserve and the Taeo'o blue lagoon. when starting from Raiatea, a cruise to the Tuamotu archipelago lasts three weeks. A convoy can be arranged for those who prefer to set sail from Rangiroa.
