Tall Ship adventure
sailing cruises in the tropical islands of the South Pacific and New Zealand's
Hauraki Gulf and the Bay of Islands.
The
chance to experience seaborne travel from a bygone age is extremely rare. No
previous experience is necessary to become part of the ship's crew for a voyage
of a few days, weeks or even months.
You will have the opportunity to
participate in sail training aboard an authentic square rigger. Alongside the
professional crew you can stand watches, take the helm, handle lines, raise sail
and let the routines of a sailing ship take you to a slower and more relaxed
era.
Suitable for all ages and equally
ideal for singles or couples seeking to relive the romantic age of the clipper
ships.
CRUISING THE SOUTH PACIFIC ISLANDS
The South Pacific with its enchanting islands, colourful
history, rich and ancient customs and warm hospitable people, stirs the mind and
excites the imagination.
Remote, unspoiled atolls accessible only by sea is the stuff
of escapists' dreams. We sail in the wake of Cook and Bougainville, harnessing
the trade winds to transit the oceans, ensuring the best weather the whole year
round. During April to November explore this untouched paradise with 11
to 21
night voyages through Polynesia and Melanesia.
You can choose the thrill and challenge of a deep ocean
voyage, with excitement of blue water sailing and moonlit passage. With total
involvement in the ship there's time to master the rig, become confident aloft
or learn something of ocean navigation.
Or you can take a more leisurely island voyage, day sailing
through an idyllic cruising paradise, still participating but at whatever level
you enjoy.

New
Zealand Sailings - December
2009 to April
2010
Auckland is the ship's permanent base. During the
best of the New Zealand summer, she sails the spectacular
cruising grounds of the stunning Hauraki Gulf and Bay of Islands
on 3 and 5 night coastal voyages. The North Island coast
combines spectacularly beautiful scenery with ideal sailing
conditions and climate. The pristine waters that Captain James
Cook first chartered 236 years ago can
be explored today aboard this magnificently restored square
rigger.
Your Role as Voyage Crew
This is an adventure holiday where the emphasis is placed on
your enjoyment. Participation is central to that adventure and
you will be taken on as a Voyage Crew, learning about and
participating in ship-board life.
Allowance is made for age and abilities and as part of the
ship’s watch system you can handle sail, take the helm, join in
and have fun.
Berth price includes all meals onboard, use of
ship’s equipment, snorkels, boats and safety gear.
