The food is prepared by the chef, who has worked in many of the resorts and most of the larger dive boats in Fiji. He cooks all cuisines, from roast leg of lamb to BBQ'ed fresh Wahoo with a lemon butter caper sauce. Fresh fruits and veggies are always served. The chef is assisted by the deck hand, who also runs the dingy and looks after the guests needs, be it in the water snorkelling or hiking.

The two of them serenade the guests during dinner and at cocktail or "Kava" hour.

Bruce Vasconcellos is the Captain, born in Hawaii, has been sailing boats since he was 4.

The following is a sample itinerary:

One of the most popular trips for families or honeymooners is the seven-day/night cruise; it takes you through the Mamanutha and Yasawa Island groups. In these islands, it varies from the fun filled tourist spots with resorts like Plantation Island and Musket Cove Resort, which is always a great spot for its hospitality and pristine settings. The anchorage is flat calm, which is usually your first night after a 3-4 hour sail from the mainland. This helps the guests get used to the motion of the boat and it is close to snorkelling and sunshine. There are many a good scuba spot too for those who would enjoy a dive and are qualified.

After a hearty breakfast you head west past Lako Mai resort, a quiet lunch spot where you are also welcome. Around the back of Malolo Island Resort is a pristine bay for some snorkelling and a swim or just up from there is Honeymoon Island where the fish are so tame they eat out of your hand.

If the wind is blowing from the wrong direction, we can anchor in the sheltered lagoon of the island of Mana and its five star resort with its beautiful settings. You may want to wander the grounds or have a cocktail at their beach bar and watch the sunset as the chef prepares an on board dinner of tender BBQed steaks and fresh green salad.

If the wind is behind us, we head up through the many scenic islands of the Mamanutha to the secluded, uninhabited Vanu Levu Island at the top of the island chain. This is a favourite with the honeymooners as there are two deserted islands with its pearl white beaches good for beachcombing and snorkelling. This beautiful anchorage is unmatched anywhere in the Mamanutha’s.

If the wind is good, but the swell is wrong for Vanua Levu, we bypass the Mamanutha’s and head to the majestic Waya Island in the Yasawa group. Here anchored in the bay off the main village the mountains tower over us creating the stillness of another special anchorage. A visit to the village for the traditional “sevusevu” to the chief of the village. After the ceremony, we are now allowed to swim and snorkel and perhaps for the ambitious a hike to the waterfall above the village.

After acquiring shells from the village market in the morning, we head north to the clear waters off the Octopus Club Resort. Here a lunch and a kayak or hike to the ridge above the bay for that special picture, we head to  Naviti Island. This is the next island 4 hours north. By now we are eating fresh caught fish marinated and BBQed in a caper and lemon sauce, and a fresh vegetable salad and fresh fruits for deserts as the sets over the island. Exhausted from too much sun and fun we fall asleep on deck under the stars.

After a breakfast of bacon and eggs, cereal and fresh fruit we head north again this time to the famous “Blue Lagoon” where the movie was filmed. Lunch is served under way, consisting of a seafood marinara and garlic bread. Having to stop to pull in a couple more “big ones” in behind the protecting reef. Here the snorkelling is excellent, the diving superb and the setting “Paradise!”

The setting makes you want to sample some more of the traditional drink “Kava” which you are acquiring a taste for. A roast leg of lamb with all the trimmings for dinner while being serenaded by the crew with their favourite Fijian songs.

A paddle in the morning or a visit in the dingy to the many surrounding islands always gets the blood pumping again. Perhaps you just want to be lazy today and lie under a coconut tree and read a good book. No problem, the crew will pick you up with just a call from you on the portable radio they gave you..

Today we head to the ever-popular “Caves” and surrounding pristine coral reefs. After a morning swim in the cool waters of the cave, we head south to one of the many anchorages we did not stop at on the way north. A couple more nights in bliss, stopping at those places we missed, we arrive back at Port Denarau. Next-door are the garden settings of the First Landing Resort where you might want to sit on the beach, have dinner, and relive the last week of total relaxation.

The boat is at your disposal; we could go most anywhere in Fiji. Just make sure you plan enough time to spend in Eden.
