Small ship cruising takes you far from the beaten
track and close up to places no other kind of cruising can reach.
The ship's small size means it can negotiate
narrow waterways, shallow bays and quite rivers where bigger ships
cannot go.
Unlike big ships and large scale international ports,
a small ship allows you to experience places where the nature, history
and culture remain fresh, where the flood of tourists has not overrun
them and will not overrun you. Places where you will meet and interact
with the locals and discover how the waterway plays a vital role in
their normal day to day lives. |

 WEATHER IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC:
In
Australia's Whitsunday Islands,
New Caledonia, Tahiti, Tonga, Fiji, and Vanuatu the weather is tropical and warm, with only
moderate temperature changes between seasons. The most favoured sailing season is the dry
winter months between April and November, when temperatures are in the comfortable 70s
(low 20s C), winds are dependable, and unsettled weather is infrequent.
New
Zealand's climate, kept from radical seasonal temperature changes by the surrounding
ocean, varies with its topography. This is a destination where one could conceivably ski
on the mountainous South Island one week, and sail the next in the inviting waters off the
North Island.
The
best sailing season in New Zealand is in the warmer months, between November and April.
Air temperatures range from the high 50s in the winter to the mid-80s in the summer, with
water temperatures ranging from 60 in the winter to 76 in the summer. Winds, which tend to
be south-westerly, are lighter in the summer.
